Not to be confused with the other Martin Kemp (Spandau) coincidently we were born just 2 days apart in the same year!
Please join me every Monday 8.00-10.00 am for Martin’s Manic Monday show. The theme for the music is to celebrate birthdays in the coming week for musicians and singers alive or deceased and play tracks from their catalogue over the years. The genre tends to be rock & pop but certainly not limited to these so be prepared for some great classics you may not have heard for a long time.
I have a regular feature – The Eileen Box (……all to be revealed on the show) and also remember other famous persons who have a birthday or films and programmes premiered during the week.
I was born in South Norwood which explains my unconditional support for Crystal Palace FC (CPFC) but moved to the Sanderstead / Old Coulsdon area and latterly Caterham since 2004 with my wife Fiona and family.
I’ve always been a music ‘buff’ heavily influenced by the music played by my older brother and 2 sisters during the 70’s & 80’s and I not only buy and listen to a lot of music but love going to concerts – I’ve been to so many I can’t remember and have regularly attended festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, V Festival and Guilfest to name but a few.
You’ll often find me playing on a pickleball, tennis or badminton court and despite supporting CPFC love to still play and watch football.
I’ve always worked in the insurance industry and started my own business Jade Insurance Consultants Ltd here in Caterham since 2002 so am delighted to have this opportunity to be with Ridge Radio to satisfy my life-long passion for good music.
