If you like classic radio comedy the place to be is Ridge Radio on a Wednesday afternoon and again on Saturday at midday, when we present 2 half hour comedy radio shows from the past 70 years, there are so many to choose from!

We are currently replaying ‘The Goon Show’ featuring Harry Secombe, Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers. Originally aired on the BBC Light Programme from 28th May September 1951 and ran until 1960, it is a special kind of radio craziness often copied but never surpassed.
Loved by many, including Royalty, it gives us great pleasure to replay these iconic shows.

Dad’s Army is a BBC sitcom about the British Home Guard during the Second World War. It was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, and originally broadcast on the BBC from 1968 to 1977. It ran for nine series and 80 episodes in total; a feature film released in 1971, a stage show and a radio version based on the television scripts. The series regularly gained audiences of 18 million viewers, and is still shown internationally.

During the 1970’s there were approximately 50 shows adapted for radio, it is a pleasure to replay some of these shows for you.
